10 bikes under 400 cc in India

‘With great power comes great responsibility.’ But where will this power come from? The spider that bit Peter Parker has not been found and Thor’s hammer has been broken. While we cannot offer you something mystic, this list of bikes under 400cc in India is surely a good compensation. So, without further wasting any time, let’s get started.

10. Honda H’Ness CB350

Everyone was waiting for the Honda Rebel to launch. Instead, what we got is an all-new Honda H’ness CB350. With a 348.3 cc engine under the fuel tank, Honda has introduced a direct rival to the segment leader, the Royal Enfield Classic 350, next on the list. This engine produces a power of 20.8hp and a peak torque of 30Nm. The Honda H’Ness has a list of first-in-segment features such as LED headlamps, Alloy Wheels, Smartphone Voice Control, Assist and Slip clutch and side stand indicator. The prices are expected to be close to ₹1,90,000.

9. Royal Enfield Classic 350

The segment leader, a bike from a brand that has been in India, even before independence. The Classic 350 has been a choice of Indians from a pretty long. The Classic gets a 346cc engine which produces a power of 19.1hp and a peak torque of 28Nm. This bike is true to its roots and the ones who like it retro can surely go for the RE Classic 350. You will have to spend ₹1,61,688 to buy one.

8. Jawa Perak

The retro bikemaker came back to India in 2018 and the country rejoiced to revisit the historic brand that once brought in bikes like the Yezdi. And now, the company offers some of the best bikes in the segment, one being the Jawa Perak. Perak has got a 334cc engine under the chassis which produces a power of 30.22hp and a peak torque of 32.74Nm. Even though the engine is smaller than the rivals, Royal Enfield Classic 350 and the Honda H’ness, it produces more power and torque, which already gives it an upper hand. And the price of ₹1,94,500 does put it ahead.

7. TVS Apache RR310

Apache, a moniker enough to instil the thrill in one’s mind has got a bike under 400cc. The TVS Apache RR310 comes with a 312cc engine which produces 33.53hp of power and a peak torque of 27.3Nm. Crafted to overcome and outperform, Apache RR310 is a product of collaboration between TVS Motors and BMW Motorrad. The mean faired bike comes with a 5-inch TFT instrument cluster placed vertically. Apache RR310 has got everything one can look for a sports bike in this segment. All this comes at an impressive price of ₹2,45,000.

6. BMW G310 GS

The newly launched BMW G310 GS makes it to the list of best bikes under 400cc for all good reasons. First is the 313cc engine which produces a power of 33.53hp and a peak torque of 28Nm. When launched initially in BS4 era, the G310 shared its engine with the TVS Apache RR310 but the TVS ECU made it possible for Apache to churn out more power. The BS6 version of G310 GS produces the same power and a negligibly higher torque now. And the second reason is the price. The BMW G310 GS has been priced at ₹2,85,000 while its younger sibling, the G310 is priced at ₹2,45,000.

5. Bajaj Dominar 400

India’s second-largest two-wheeler manufacturer has got a bike in this segment. The Bajaj Dominar 400 has a 373.3cc engine, under its Beam type perimeter frame, which produces a power of 39.45hp and a peak torque of 35Nm. The twin-barrel exhaust, up-side-down forks, surgical precision designing, dual-channel ABS and much more on this ‘Don’t hold back’ bike puts it at a pace far better than the others in the segment. And the best part, even after multiple revisions in the pricing of the BS6 Bajaj Dominar 400, you will have to spend ₹1,97,758 only, which is a really good price for a 400cc bike.

4. KTM RC390

Talking about sports bikes, KTM is one of the global brands which will always come up. And in the 400cc segment, KTM offers RC390, a faired sports bike with a 373.3cc engine is a for-sure beast. The engine produces a power of 42.9hp and a peak torque of 36Nm. And KTM has recently introduced a Metallic Colour scheme on the RC390 which makes it meaner than ever. You will have to spend ₹2,53,184 if you plan to buy KTM RC390.

3. Benelli Imperiale 400

The Chinese-owned Italian motorcycle manufacturer has a retro offering under the Imperiale 400 moniker. Under the tank, it has a 374cc engine which churns out a power of 20.7hp and a peak torque of 29Nm. It is a reinterpretation of the historic Benelli-MotoBi range which was produced back in the 1950s. The Timeless Traveller comes at a price of ₹1,99,000.

2. Mahindra Mojo

India’s very own automaker, Mahindra also offers a bike in this segment. The underrated Mahindra Mojo. Born for the road, the Mojo comes with a 294.72cc engine which produces 25.35hp of power and a peak torque of 25.96Nm. It is a good output considering the size of the engine. The BS6 Mahindra Mojo will cost you ₹1,99,900. It has got the style and great usage in the city driving conditions. One will surely prefer Bajaj Dominar 400 over the Mojo though.

1. Royal Enfield Himalayan

Talking about power, Royal Enfield surely makes it to the list twice. And this time with the Himalayan. The Royal Enfield Himalayan has a slightly bigger engine than the 400cc, 411cc to be precise. It is capable of churning out 24.3hp if power and a peak torque of 32Nm.

The Himalayan is built to withstand any sort of roads, as the company says. And it comes at aggressive pricing of ₹1,87,000

Thank you!
